Texas farm house...Texas Chain Saw Massicure anyone? Finally in NM

So how do a sum up a wonderful trip to New Mexico...One word Love....I loved the mountians, i loved that I was with Paul, I loved the food, I loved the art, I loved the people (most) and I loved the history.
Day 1-Paul and i woke up at 4:15 and were on the road at 4:45. We were only on the feeder road of 1-45 still in Huntsville and we were scanned by radar from a cop hiding...Thank goodness for the radar detector mom and David bought paul for an early graduation present!!! it saved us more than once! Finally on the road...I was really tired since we were so excited that we could barly sleep the night before. I took a short nap and paul drove. When we got to dallas we were redirected to another road cause of a major accident that blocked the whole road...needless to say this way added about 30min to our total time. We stopped at the Big Texas Steak Ranch for lunch. I ordered a hamburger and steak fries. Before they came out David called Paul and told him my Grandma died about fifteen minutes before. I cried alot but new she was in a way better place away from pain and suffering. RIP GG!!!!At 6:30pm Texas time and 5:30 New Mexico time we made it to The Santa Fe Sage Inn. We dropped our stuff off and went to go cruise downtown Santa Fe. Paul was so excited to take me to where he had been when he was on the West trip the year before. I was super hungery so he took me to this bar I cant remember the name but I had a turkey sandwhich that had avacado and green chili mayo...OMG it was so awesome! Afterward we went window shopping since it was Sunday and nothing was really open. That night we went to bed at 9pm and didn't wake up till 9am. We were tired from that long drive.
Day 2-since our hotel had free breakfast till 10am we took advantage. They only had ceral, bagles, waffels, apples, and bananas. Needless to say it was enough for us. On the schedule for that day was a trip to Bandiler national park. It took about 45 min. to get there and on the way we passed camel rock and other casinos. When we got there, there was lots of people. We walked through the visitors center and then started our venture up the mountians. Bandiler is home of the clift dwellers. I took lots of pictures there but they are on the camera that I can't find the battery charger...when I find that I will post pics. It was very hot and I am very out of shape to be walking up a mountian that was as steep as it was. Paul and I made it up about over half a mile and we noticed that a really bad storm was moving in so we had to make our treck back down. I was a wonderful experience and I loved handing with paul in his element of teaching me histroy. When we left Bandalier we went back to the center of town to go shopping. This was where I found the piece of jewlery that my mommy wanted (stearling silver tourquise with a tiny piece of onxy on it). We went to eat at The Sleeping Dog Tavern and I had a turkey sandwhich with a Cherry chili chutney and french fries. Needless to say it was very different. i have never had anything like it! While we were shopping Paul got a call from his professor that he took the west trip with and they were going to be in Santa Fe today and he wanted to have dinner with us. We met up with them around 7:30pm at the Ore house on The Plaza. I had a 6 oz. stake with lime pesto shrimp, paramasion mashed potatoes and asparigas. Needless to say the stake was under cooked then potatoes were cold. Not worth the $18 we charged for it thats for sure. We had alot of fun with his professors and after dinner we went to the Cowgirl Bar and Gril to meet up with the students. After awhile we left with them to our hotel. Oh while we were at dinner we were talked into driving the high road to Taos.
Day 3-We woke up at like 8am to eat breakfast then we started to drive to Taos. We drove by the town of Chimayo which has the sancuary de chimayo which is the most visited cathloic church in north ameria (per paul). Then we drove through all of these reservations and up and down mountians. So bueatful! never seen anything like it. When we got to Taos we parked and went shopping. We found a soda fountian shop that had slurpy dogs which we enjoyed. I didn't buy anything in Taos but a huge carmal apple and it was yum. We got back to Santa fe a little late and we were hungery for dinner we ate at the shed which sales New Mex food. I have never had new mex so i didn't know what to expect. First of all you dont get chips and salsa for free anywhere Blah that was a turn off. Our waiter did give us samples of red chili and green chili...I didn't like either but I choose green chili. I got a green chili cheese enchalada with a blue corn torillia and a blue corn taco with meat, so homany stuff and beans. Oh yeah and garlic french bread. Our waiter said that they give french bread because they used to be an international restraunt that sold Italian food with garlic bread at evey meal so when they went to serving just Tex-Mex the italian bread just stuck. When we got back to the hotel it was time to pack and get ready to go home. Paul wanted to leave at 3:45am so we had to be ready!
Day 4-we woke up a 3:15am and were on our way home! We didn't get there till 5:30pm...I had so much fun and I am so glad i had the oppertunity to go

Summer 2008 Cozumel 2

So my best friends family invited me to go on a cruize to Cozumel!! We went from Thrusday through Sunday. On Thursday we got on the Cruize ship but we were suposed to leave at 3pm and didn't leave till 5pm. The first night was alot of fun and I went straight to sleep. At about 8am I woke up ready to throw up. The boat was swaying back and forth making me super sick! Come to find out one of the stablizers was out thats why we were swaying. We arrived to Cozumel at like 2pm and had to leave at 7pm so we went to Chankanaab Park and Snorkled for 2 hours then went to walk around the mall area ready to go back to the boat. During the Captins cocktail party Derek Proposed to Effie... Yeah The rest of the trip was so fun and I thank the Wheatons for the experience. Pictures below from the formal dinners...
